WOMEN’S GOLF TEAM WRAP UP SEASON AT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Head Coach Greg Hickey, Kristen Butterfield, Rachael Rier & Assistant Coach Bill Wogden at the PING CCAA National Golf Championships
The Georgian Grizzlies women's golf team competed this week at the 2019 PING CCAA Golf National Championships hosted at the Continental Golf Club in Ste.-Victoire Sorel, QC.
The event brought together the top collegiate golfers from across Canada to compete for the Championship.
Unfortunately weather played a role as the event was shortened from four rounds down to three after Thursday's round was cancelled due to wet and rainy conditions.
Georgian's Rachael Rier had a solid outing finishing in the top 10 with an eighth place finish. The Hanover native had rounds of 79, 77 and 85 to finish +25 for the tournament.
Teammate Kristen Butterfield (Brantford) finished strong at the tournament posting rounds of 92, 81 and 82 to finish in 16th place overall.
As a duo, the team finished just outside of earning a medal in fourth place overall, just eight strokes back of the bronze medalists.
