GRIZZLIES GOLF TEAM BATTLES IN ORILLIA
Jeff Ash had the top round of the day for the Grizzlies shooting a round of 72 to finish in a tie for third place overall.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's golf team continued their OCAA season on Wednesday when they competed in the Lakehead-Orillia Invitational held at Hawk Ridge Golf Club in Orillia.
Georgian had two separate teams of five playing at the event which yielded similar results. Both Grizzlies teams finished with a combined score of 309 on the day to finish tied for fifth place.
Individually Jeff Ash (Barrie) had the best round for the Grizzlies posting a round of 72 to finish in a tie for third place. Newcomer Austin Morrison (Lloydminster, AB) had the next lowest round for Georgian shooting a 76 on the day.
Georgian continues to prepare for the 2018 OCAA Championships which take place Oct. 1-3 in London. The Grizzlies will have to pare down to one team of five for the Championships so there is plenty left to prove to make the group.
The Grizzlies will be back in action on Thursday when they host their own Georgian Invitational at the Heritage Hills Golf Club in Shanty Bay. Eight different teams from colleges across Ontario will be taking part in the event.
