EMILIE TYNDALL SHINES AGAIN WITH ACE TO LEAD PROVINCIALS
Georgian's Emilie Tyndall is the clubhouse leader through two rounds and hit a hole-in-one on the 17th hole in round two of the Championships
The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's golf teams continued their play at the 2017 OCAA Golf Championships held at the Crimson Ridge Golf Course in Sault Ste. Marie, ON.
For the second day in a row, Georgian's Emilie Tyndall (Kirkland, QC) was the star of the day. She tied for the lowest score of the round which was highlighted by an incredible hole-in-one on the 17th hole.
Through two rounds, Tyndall holds a one stroke lead over Sheila McKeen from Humber College to lead the women's individual leaderboard.
Teammate Addison Wallwin (Barrie) is just six strokes out of a medal position in fourth place while Danielle Forhan (Barrie) rounds out the Georgian team in ninth overall.
Combined the Georgian women's team is sitting in second place overall and are just five strokes behind the Humber Hawks.
On the men's side, Matt Lemay (Waterloo) had one of the top rounds of the day with a 4-over round of 76 and currently sits in a tie for ninth place.
Brady Zordan (Midhurst) sits in a tie for 12th place, Jeff Ash (Barrie) is in 20th, Josh Lynch (Burlington) is tied for 21st and Jonah Vidito (Kentville) had a ten stroke improvement in the second round and is now tied for 31st overall.
The men's team has moved up to fourth place as a combined group and with another good round will be in medal contention for the tournament.
The third and final round of the 2017 OCAA Golf Championships will take place on Wednesday.
