Georgian's men's doubles team of Ethan Zhao & Eric Kern and women's doubles team Courtney Brewer & Michelle Kozlowskyj will move on.
The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's badminton team competed at the OCAA East Regionals on Friday and Saturday hosted by Centennial College in Toronto, ON.
With a trip to the OCAA Championships on the line the Grizzlies delivered.
Georgian's men's doubles team of Ethan Zhao (China) and Eric Kern (Desparats) had an excellent result finishing in second place falling only to the George Brown Huskies team by a couple of points in the final.
The duo also went 3-1 in the round robin to finish second in their pool.
Zhao and Kern won the bronze medal at last year's OCAA Championship and will be looking for their second straight medal at the event.
The Grizzlies women's doubles team of Courtney Brewer (Manitouwadge) and Michelle Kozlowskyj (Garson) continued their solid season as the duo finished in second place.
By placing in the top three in their discipline both duos have qualified for the OCAA Championships.
Fen Lin (China) had a solid effort finishing third in his pool in the men's singles competition and earned a spot in the quarter-finals.
Unfortunately he fell in a tough match to Centennials Howard Ng (21-15, 21-13) which eliminated him from contention.
The 2018 OCAA Badminton Championships presented by belairdirect takes place Feb. 16-17 at the David Braley Athletics & Recreation Centre at Mohawk College in Hamilton, ON.
